This is an intuitive process-driven exploration and conversation using art in a caring way to connect with ourselves.

We will enjoy the presence of our present, and understand that we are the sum, the fullness of life lived in its challenge and beauty.

Suggested Materials List:

  • Folks need to be able to give full body movement and expression.

  • 36``x 36`` x 1.5`` deep canvass or wood panel painting surface. Or you can create on glass if you can manage it and turn it and lift it. If you create on glass you will need a heavier bodied paint. If not canvass or board, then a full watercolour sheet tacked onto a wooden panel on an easel. It will need to be glazed in advance or gesso’d in advance

  • Your favourite background music and loudspeakers to hear instructions while you listen to it

  • Invite your friends – they can create with you – buddy up on your paints, even if you have to do it in separate homes.

  • Use a large drop cloth (for your homes sake)

  • Chalk pastels -- a package with 12 or more colour options

  • Shapes you use every day which can be used as a stencil or an ink transfer. Leaves from trees or gardens, nuts, bolts, sprockets, footprints from your feet or shoes – anything that represents your identity – a page from your favourite book, a ticket you saved and can incorporate in the piece, a saying printed which can be collaged or written out with your own hand. Your favourite worn out linen or cotton shirt. A lid top or strait edge of any kind, string, rope. A silk scarf – which you don’t mind being incorporated in your piece, a silk blouse or shirt. A lace colour from an old shirt or grandparents’ shawl or antique lace edges/collars.

  • You can use wood block inks if you like in this workshop.
