Artists decontextualize and recontextualize forms, elements, and experiences. We draw inspiration from one context, decontextualize it, and infuse it into another — recontextualizing it into a finished form.
I have found that these two words help me navigate life experiences. It is good to decontextualize experiences. To examine them, reflect, and, when we are ready, float them back into the context where they reside.
